The Hyman Abramovich Foundation (also known as HAF) is a Jewish charitable organisation dedicated to supporting its beneficiary, Masada College. HAF's primary mission is to provide financial support to Masada College and assist in the construction and maintenance of its buildings.
The Hyman Abramovich Foundation Jewish Bursary has been introduced to directly address the affordability challenges that has prevented many Jewish families from accessing Jewish education. The Hyman Abramovich Foundation Jewish Bursary offers financial support to any Jewish student from Year K-12 by making a 40% contribution to tuition fees, available from the 2026 school year starting from Term 1, 2026. The Hyman Abramovich Foundation Jewish Bursary has been generously funded by The Hyman Abramovich Foundation (HAF), a charitable organisation founded in 1983, of which Masada College is a beneficiary. The Foundation's primary objective is to provide financial support to help as many Jewish students as possible attend Masada College.
Whilst the Hyman Abramovich Foundation Jewish Bursary is only available to Jewish students, the Hyman Abramovich Foundation's ongoing investment in Masada College, including its facilities and infrastructure, positively impacts the learning environment for all students, regardless of background. Masada College remains a proudly inclusive school, welcoming students of all faiths and fostering a respectful, diverse community where every child can thrive.
Children eligible for the Bursary must meet the Jewish identity criteria set out in the Hyman Abramovich Foundation Jewish Bursary terms and conditions. This identity criterion is based on Israel's Law of Return definition. Additionally, a child qualifies if they have at least one Jewish parent or grandparent, whether by birth or Orthodox or non-Orthodox conversion to Judaism.
You can prove your child's Jewish identity by simply providing one of the following:
Parents' or Grandparents' Ketubah.
A certificate of conversion from a Beth Din.
A letter from a Rabbi confirming Jewish identity based on Israel's Law of Return described above. A template Rabbi letter can be found here.
While it is to be noted that the Hyman Abramovich Foundation Jewish Bursary is a discretionary gift from the Hyman Abramovich Foundation, it is the Hyman Abramovich Foundation's current intention that the Hyman Abramovich Foundation Jewish Bursary be available on a continuing basis subject to the Hyman Abramovich Foundation Bursary terms and conditions.
New students to Masada College, will be required to follow the standard enrolment guidelines. Through the online enrolment application process, families will be guided through the simple application for the Hyman Abramovich Foundation Jewish Bursary. No, you are only required to apply once for the duration of your child's tenure at Masada College unless requested by the Hyman Abramovich Foundation Board at their discretion.

The Hyman Abramovich Foundation Jewish Bursary will not be awarded, or may be suspended, if the recipient's current school account is in arrears. To be eligible for the Hyman Abramovich Foundation Jewish Bursary from Term 1, 2026, all accounts must be paid in full by 19 December 2025.
The Hyman Abramovich Foundation Jewish Bursary is a 40% contribution to Masada College tuition fees only. Levies, mandatories and any additional extras must be paid for in full by parents.
Yes. The Hyman Abramovich Foundation Jewish Bursary is a very generous bursary aimed at addressing affordability of Jewish education for families who require it. For every person who does not take up the bursary, more Jewish students will be able to access the bursary.
